When using the internet to find a product, service or holiday destination many of us rely on reviews on various sites to help make us an informed decision.
When it comes to finding a designer to create you a website, you may find reviews hard to come back other than the reviews and testimonials on the designers own site. These should often be taken with a pinch of salt as they are often hand picked to show the best work and happiest clients opinions rather than the broader view of all their clients. If you have found a designer that you think may be suitable do not be afraid to contact some of their existing clients to find out if they would recommend them to others.
Do not get involved in asking their clients about prices etc as this information may be sensitive and a breach of confidentiality but you are well within your rights to ask a general opinion of how they work and if they were satisfied with the end result.
